It's All About The Pros vs Joes

Waddup everybody!

So I've entered into mortal combat with my man PHD Steve over at Raptors Republic compliments of my peeps at Whotheman.com.

(Not to worry folks, nothing lethal)

WhoTheMan.com is an innovative forum where sports fans can share their sports opinion, debate with others who have something to say or they can brief themselves daily on updated headlines from the world of sports.

They've set up this tourney called the Pros vs Joes and I've now moved up to Round 3.

The topic of course is Raptors related and here's the topic:

This season is a failure if the Raps don't win a round in the playoffs (even if Bosh stays)

The NBA Breakdown Weekly Recap #11

The NBA Breakdown is back once again and we're bringing you the goodness as we breakdown highlights from the past week in the NBA.

Kobe Bryant celebrated his 1000th career game in true Kobe fashion by hitting a go ahead 3 pointer against the Memphis Grizzlies.

This year, the trade deadline was filled with action and excitement as Antawn Jamison and Tracy McGrady found new homes;

In the absence of CB4 - the Raps have still managed to play relatively well - just ask the Nets and the Wizards.

OK perhaps not the most elite teams but a win is a win.

The Dog Is Out!

What's up y'all!!

As always, the next episode of The NBA Breakdown promises to be full of energy, a whole lot of octane and some big time fun!

So to help us out, Dave and I have called on the services of one of the most dynamic, electric and exciting dudes to ever play north of the border.

Of course, I'm talking about our pal, Mr. Jerome Williams AKA the Junk Yard Dog.

JYD openly and honestly shares what it was like to play in Toronto back in the day and if that wasn't enough, this Georgetown product shares his thoughts on why the team wasn't able to beat the 76er's in that thrilling 7 game series back in the 2001 playoffs.

Listen to JYD by clicking here.

Our buddy PHD Steve from Raptors Republic also rolls through to talk about the team and what their playoff aspirations might be.

PHD Steve can be heard by clicking here.

If you hear barking at the door, don't be afraid - come on in!

The NBA Breakdown Weekly Recap #10

Greetings and Salutations!

Dave and I hook up once again and take a look back at news from around the league and we start in Beantown.

- The Celtics are on a bit of a slide and are playing like a mediocre team. Are the problems in Boston fixable or does a trade need to happen to turn this squad around?

- The Toronto Raptors are on a bit of a roll and starting their surge upwards in the Atlantic division. Can they overtake the Celtics for top spot?

- Stop, collaborate and listen as Vanilla Ice recently performed as part of the half time entertainment at a Toronto Raptors game

- And finally, I'd like to send out my apologies to the residents of Dallas for offensive statements made by DAVE MENDONCA!!

The Toronto Raptors Select...Damon Stoudamire

It was 15 years ago during the 1995 NBA draft when the Toronto Raptors made a 5ft 10in point guard out of the University of Arizona their first ever draft pick.

That's right, Damon Stoudamire, the guy they called Mighty Mouse instantly became the face of the brand new Toronto Raptors franchise and he certainly didn't disappoint.

Damon had a standout rookie year, capturing the 95/96 Rookie of the Year Award and played an instrumental role in the biggest win of the season over the 72-10 Chicago Bulls, the eventual NBA champs that year.

Dave and I caught up with Damon to talk about the good old days, his love for the city and his special relationship with Isaiah Thomas.

Whether you're a die hard Toronto Raptor fan or not, you'll appreciate this special conversation with a guy who put an entire city on his back.
