R.I.P. Troy Escalade Jackson...You'll Be Missed!

Many were shocked to learn the news that streetball legend, Troy "Escalade" Jackson had passed away in his sleep in his Los Angeles hotel room during NBA All Star Weekend.

I literally received a text moments before The Breakdown was set to go to air on Sunday night and I like many was in disbelief. At 6-foot-10 and over 350 pounds, Troy was spectacular on the court and one of the nicest people you'd meet off it.

He understood what it meant to put on a show and once shared during one of his many appearances on The Breakdown that he genuinely wanted to make people happy and put smiles on kid's faces.

His older brother and retired NBA player, Mark Jackson was spot on when he said in a statement to the New York Post, "He traveled all around the world and touched so many lives,"

Troy did just that everywhere he went and it was always a pleasure to have him on as a guest on the show whether we were dissecting playoff series or listening to his childhood stories about being the younger brother of an NBA player.

I'll never forget a conversation we had with Troy once when we asked him how he would want to be remembered.

Here's what he said:

"I just want folks to say that Troy Jackson did it the right way, that's it. I want folks to remember me as a good guy."

And that's exactly how you'll be remembered Troy.

Thanks for the great times, the laughs and the lasting legacy you left for us all.

Rest In Peace ESCALADE!

Welcome Back Escalade!

The 2010 NBA Playoffs are officially here and Dave and I decided to call on our pal Troy "Escalade" Jackson to get his thoughts on who he thinks will be still playing for the Larry O'Brien trophy when June rolls around.

It's always a treat to welcome the former And 1 Mix Tape Tour sensation to the program and Mark Jackson's little BIG brother didn't disappoint as he delivered classic material in true Escalade fashion.

Not only did he give us his thoughts on the NBA Playoffs but Escalade also shared some insights on super rookie, Brandon Jennings, the state of his hometown, Knicks and what he saw Steve Nash doing with a soccer ball one day.

An Escalade Is About To Hit You

You guys are in for a treat this Sunday. Audley and I recently interviewed Troy "Escalade" Jackson. If you don't know who he is then you've been missing out. He is a 6 foot 10, 375 pound center on the AND1 Mix Tape Tour. Also, he's the little brother of former Knicks guard, Mark Jackson. Escalade is a freak of nature. This New York native has insane ball handling and passing abilities for a man his size.

Just check out this link for yourself:

Besides playing the game, he can talk the talk. He totally exposed Audley and I. It was hilarious! You'll find out what I mean when you tune into this Sunday at 9pm eastern. See you then.
